Track of studies towards "Artist's Diploma" (A.D.) – International program

The course of studies towards an Artist's Diploma is two years.

During the period of study the student is to attend classes and workshops to be determined by the studies committee as well as participation in musical activities related to the field of specialization.

 

Entry requirements:

  1. A Bachelor of Music degree (BMus) with a grade average of at least 80 in the theoretical subjects and at least 90 in the principle subject;
  2. Candidates who have a B.Mus. or B.A. degree from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music and are applying more than a year after completing their undergraduate studies will be required to pass an entry examination, unless decided otherwise;
  3. Candidates that hold a B.Mus. degree from other institutions will be required to pass entry examinations and demonstrate proven achievements in their area of expertise;
  4. Candidates who hold a B.A. degree will be required to pass the entry examinations and if required will have to complete the curriculum that is to  be determined by the studies committee of the school.

 

Final requirements

Students in these tracks are required to perform in two full-length recitals with different repertoire.

  • Students studying in orchestral instruments are required to participate in all orchestral rehearsals and concerts.
  • Vocal department – in special cases students will be required to take an examination at the end of the first year in accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the vocal department.
  • Chamber music - students in this track are required to perform in 3 recitals.
