Study Tracks
The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music grants Undergraduate, Graduate, Artists Diploma and Ph.D. degrees.
Undergraduate Studies:
The Undergraduate degrees offered by the BMSM are:
- Studies towards Bachelor of Music degree (B.Mus.) – single major track in one of the practical studies departments: the performance* department and the department of composition* and conducting* (program duration: 4 years). * Composition, conducting and piano performance studies are offered in Hebrew only. All the other performance studies are offered also in English.
- Studies towards Bachelor of Music degree (B.Mus.) – single major track in one of the practical studies departments of the school of music and one other department from among those offered by the university, i.e. a track of two different parallel degree programs (program duration: 4 years).
This track entails a tuition fee higher than usual, and is conditional on the non-music department's consent to such an arrangement.
The student will be awarded two different academic degrees. - Studies towards Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) – double- major track consisting of studies in the department of musicology and one other department from among those offered by the university (program duration: 3 years). Studies in this track are carried out in Hebrew only.
- Studies towards Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) - double- major track in two of the school of music’s departments: the performance department and the musicology department or the composition and conducting department and the musicology department (program duration: 4 years). Studies in this track are carried out in Hebrew only.
- Studies towards Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) - single-major track in Musicology (program duration: 3 years). Studies in this track are carried out in Hebrew only.
Graduate Studies:
The graduate degrees offered by the BMSM are:

Studies toward a Master of Music degree (M.Mus) with or without a thesis. This course of studies can be done in all the departments except Musicology. Thesis track is in Hebrew only. A track without a thesis is offered also in English, with the exception of composition.

Studies toward a Master of Arts degree (M.A) with or without a thesis. This course of studies can be done only in the Musicology studies department. Studies in this track are carried out in Hebrew only.

Studies toward a Master of Arts degree (M.A) in Theory and Composition in collaboration with the Musicology department. Studies in this track are carried out in Hebrew only.

Studies toward an Artist Diploma in the Instrumental Department or the Vocal Department.
Doctoral Studies:

Studies toward a Ph.D degree in the Musicology Department or Composition combined with Musicology studies. Studies in this degree are carried out in Hebrew only.
Studies in "Special Status":

Studies in the "Special Status" include individual lessons and participation in the orchestra/choir/chamber music (according to the field of study). “Special Status” students are charged at least 100% increased tuition fee.
