Printmaking Workshops as Part of the Exhibition “Something to Hold On To”

Come Discover the World of Printmaking! A special event combining a guided tour of the exhibition “Something to Hold On To” with a hands-on screen-printing workshop led by Ba’alei Hamelacha Studio.

We will begin with a tour of the exhibition led by co-curator Roni Kochavi. During the tour, we will look at prints by artists Hedwig Grossman and Rudi Lehmann and explore the role of printmaking in their work, their creative processes, and the stories behind the works. We will then move to the activity space, where we will learn the basics of screen printing, experiment with printing on paper and textiles, create – and get our hands dirty.

The workshop is held in collaboration with Ba’alei Hamelacha Studio – a manual screen-printing workshop and center for the study of traditional printmaking techniques. Founded in 2010, the studio is located in the Noga neighborhood of Jaffa–Tel Aviv. It is home to a school offering screen-printing instruction to the general public, artists, designers, and creators, as well as a wide range of courses, workshops, professional training sessions, tours, and lectures open to both beginners with no prior experience and professionals. The studio team will guide participants through the hands-on experience and introduce them to the fundamentals of screen printing, one of the central printmaking techniques in the worlds of art and design.
