About the Faculty of the Arts
The David and Yolanda Katz Faculty of Arts at Tel Aviv University is a unique center for arts studies in Israel, which fosters interdisciplinary cooperation and high standards, and nurtures skilled, critical, humanistic students.
Established in April 1972, the Faculty of Arts at Tel Aviv University is a distinguished institution in Israel's academic realm. The faculty's interdisciplinary approach unites departments of Film and Television, Theater Art, Art History, Architecture, and Music, fostering collaboration between theoretical research and practical implementation. This unique synergy aims to enrich artistic disciplines and enhance creative activity.

Today, the Faculty includes the Department of Art History, the Department of Theater Arts, the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television, the Buchman-Mehta School of Music, the David Azrieli School of Architecture, the Multidisciplinary program in the arts, the Interdisciplinary program in arts for a master's degree, the program for Excellence in stage design, film and television, a special program for Expression and Creation in the arts, and Certificate studies in Curation and Museology.
Committed to academic excellence, the faculty maintains a student-centered approach with an international classroom, upholding high education standards. Practical and theoretical studies coexist across departments, producing professionals in fields such as acting, stage design, music, Theater, cinima and directing.
Philanthropic support in 1991 from Mr. David Katz and his children led to the faculty's current name, "The David and Yolanda Katz Faculty of the Arts."
