The Oratorio Choir

The Oratorio Choir
Conductor: Ronen Borshevsky

The Oratorio Choir is comprised mainly of students studying in the different departments at The School of Music.

The choir meets once a week for a three-hour session. The repertoire consists mainly of works for choir and orchestra although some à capella pieces and compositions with piano accompaniment are also studied.

The choir performs in concert performances at the School. The important educational goal of the Oratorio Choir, in addition to the study of comprehensive choral repertoire, is to give the students the opportunity for joint music-making, so different from individual practicing.

In recent years, the choir has performed, together with the School’s Symphony Orchestra, leading choral repertoire including Brahms’ German Requiem, Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalm”, Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42 and "Elijah", Fauré's Requiem, Beethoven's "Choral Fantasy”, Maayani's "Requiem" and many other works.
