School competitions
The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music holds annual and bi-annual competitions to encourage excellence amongst the students and enable them to gain valuable experience in this field.
The Arianne Katcz Piano Competition
Founded in 1986 thanks to the generous donation of Mr. George Katcz, a resident of Zurich. The competition is named after his late sister who passed away before her time. The competition is held annually and is open to students of the school only.
Clairmont grants (violin, piano)
The competitions were founded in the early 80s thanks to the generous donation of Maurice Clairmont from Switzerland. In the early days, competitions were held in piano, violin, cello and composition. Today, the competitions include piano and violin. The competitions are nationwide and open to musicians recommended by the Israel-America Culture Fund.
