Departments
There are four programs of study at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, three practical and one theoretical:
Practical studies:
- The Department for Instrumental Performance
- The Department for Vocal Performance
- The Department for Composition and Orchestral/Choral Conducting
Theoretical studies:
- The Samuel Rubin Musicology Department
The Department for Instrumental Performance is divided into four sub-departments:

The String Instrument Department (violin, viola, cello, double-bass, as well as harp studies)

The Keyboard Instrument Department (piano, harpsichord and organ)

The Wind Instrument and Percussion Department (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, french horn, trombone, tuba and percussion)
