Study Tracks
The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music grants Undergraduate, Graduate, Artists Diploma and Ph.D. degrees.
For International Students
- Bachelor of Music degree (B.Mus.) – Offered for instrumental and vocal departments.
- Master of Music degree (M.Mus) – Offered for all instrumental, vocal, composition and conducting departments.
- Artist Diploma – Offered for instrumental and vocal departments.
For Israeli Students
Undergraduate Studies
The Undergraduate degrees offered by the BMSM are:
- Bachelor of Music degree (B.Mus.) – single major track in one of the practical studies departments: performance, composition or conducting (program duration: 4 years).
* Composition, conducting and piano performance studies are offered in Hebrew only.
- Bachelor of Music degree (B.Mus.) – double major track in one of the performance studies departments of the school of music and one other department from among those offered by the university, i.e. a track of two different parallel degree programs (program duration: 3 years) which will grant two academic degrees.
- Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) – double-major track consisting of studies in the department of musicology and one other department from among those offered by the university (program duration: 3 years). Hebrew only
- Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) – double-major track in two of the school of music’s departments: the performance department and the musicology department or the composition and conducting department and the musicology department (program duration: 4 years). Hebrew only
- Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) – single-major track in Musicology (program duration: 3 years). Hebrew only
Graduate Studies
The graduate degrees offered by the BMSM are:
- Master of Music degree (M.Mus) with or without a thesis. This course of studies can be done in all the departments except Musicology. Thesis track is in Hebrew only. A track without a thesis is offered also in English, with the exception of composition.
- Master of Arts degree (M.A) with or without a thesis. This course of studies can be done only in the Musicology studies department. Hebrew only
- Master of Arts degree (M.A) in Theory and Composition in collaboration with the Musicology department. Hebrew only
- Artist Diploma in the instrumental department or the vocal department.
Doctoral Studies
- Ph.D degree in the Musicology Department or Composition combined with Musicology studies. Hebrew only
Studies in "Special Status"
Includes individual lessons and participation in the orchestra/chamber music, and electives (according to the field of study). Special status track is available for one year only. Acceptance is based on the school’s needs.
